children in motion

NOTTINGHAm

A space for children to explore, express and connect through yoga, dance, story, music and meditation.

Age guide: 6-12

Ages outside of this will be considered. Please contact to discuss.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Each session, children will be immersed in a themed journey, using yoga, dance, story, music, games, meditation and their imagination to bring the theme to life. This is an opportunity for them to connect to themselves and others through movement, in a setting where learning through experience and play is encouraged.

The sessions provide a framework for children to explore movement, using principles from free dance and somatic practices, rather than being rigid or choreographed. These sessions not only benefit physical and mental health, but also your child’s capacity to tune into their inner world of sensation and emotion. Their creativity, imagination and autonomy are prioritised over doing movements ‘correctly’ or following a set sequence. There will also be plenty of opportunity for your child to contribute their unique voice, whether through movement or verbally.

During moments when your child does not want to participate, there will be a breakout space for them to rest or explore other resources related to our theme.

These sessions are designed to be a drop off, but if you need to be present with your child for the first few to support them, that is welcome. If you are concerned about your child settling in due to shyness, age or neurodivergence, please contact Claudia to discuss this so we can generate a way to help them join in.

About Claudia

Claudia has been leading sessions in her local communities, studios and schools for over a decade. She has experience working with young people, from babies to teens, and understands that each child has bags of individuality and creativity to offer. She is also mummy to a 4 and 6 year old, so appreciates the love and consideration required to parent and be supportive to children in their development. She has designed these classes based on her experience in schools and at home with her children, and really hopes this can be an opportunity for your child to move, create and be more free.
